In this step we will create a Microsoft SQL database and configure a service account with access. This database will be used by the VMware Workspace ONE Access appliance. An external database is the recommended option and a necessity if there is a need for a highly available solution. For a PoC, an internal database can be a good option especially if you would like to quickly showcase the product.
This is a step by step guide on how to import the VMware Workspace ONE Access appliance into vCenter. During this process, VM name, location, storage and networking options are configured.
Once the VMware Workspace ONE Access appliance is imported and powered on, we will need to configure the system passwords and select the appropriate database to use and in most cases this will be an external database.
